- Summary of Baltic Sea — 2017
Day 72 I left Hotel Elvira on Eckerö around 11am and followed road 1 toward Mariehamn, crossed the Marsund and entered the main island Fasta Åland. In Mariehamn I first went to the Western Harbour (Västerhamn), stopped at the Flying P-Liner Pommern museum ship, crossed the peninsula and had a chat with a family of Swedish cyclists from Stockholm, stopped for lunch at a pizzeria and leaved the capital of Åland through the Eastern Harbour (Österhamn). Out of the city I followed road 3 eastward, crossed a channel and entered Lemland. After a few slopes and a few touring cyclists heading westward I finally reached the beautiful place where my Wharshower host Åsa and her family leave.

Stage 59:
55.8 km 3:20 16.7 km/h 260 m 250 m 5,436.2 km 5,608.7 km
Day 73 After breakfast we took the bikes onto Åsa’s car and drove to the swing bridge at the channel between Lemland and Jomala, then cycled to the Waldorf school in Jomala, where Åsa is taking care of the educational garden. I helped her watering the plants and laying a lawn on a small hill.
Stage 60:
24.8 km 23 km 1:30 16 km/h 160 m 160 m 5,461 km 5,656.5 km
Day 74 A rainy day to relax.
Day 75 I made a solo cycle trip to Föglö. On the way back I bought some food at a village shop and as Åsa and the chidren came back from a gardening workshop at night, we had a great evening with good food, wine and interesting talks until late night.
Stage 61:
78.6 km 17.2 km 4:38 17 km/h 350 m 360 m 5,539.6 km 5,752.3 km
