Day 57 I was quite disappointed as I left the hotel in the morning. Yesterday’s warm and sunny weather had been replaced by a grey sky and a cold wind from NE. Better than two years ago with the pouring rain on the road, I thought. After 25 km easy cycling on a cycleway following road E75, I turned westward toward Aavasaksa and Övertorneå. 30 km before the border, the sun made a few shy apparitions.
But the weather improved first after the border crossing and, as I arrived at my next night stop ant lake Armajärvi, it was warm and sunny again.
Anna-Maija, my overall friendly host at Willa Armas offered me a coffee and a bun at my arrival. After having taken a shower and put my sweaty clothes in the washing machine, I used the time left before dinner to update my blog. A couple from Malmö and their son joined me at the dinner table and invited me to share a bottle of Sauvignon they had brought with them. A perfect wine to accompaign the grilled perch filets with green asparagus and local potatoes enjoyed as main course.
