Day 19 The day began with light rain. Olden ist a touristic hub for people coming to take a look at Briksdal Glacier, an arm of Jostedalsbreen, Europe’s largest glacier. Fortunatly, it was too early for tourists to show up and I left the village without having seen anybody. Rain intensified and I push on the quiet road long the fjord. One hour later I crossed the first glacier sightseeing coaches heading to Olden.⠀
⠀
In order to avoid a 6.5km long tunnel on road E15 to Volda prohibited to cyclists, I had to take a 20km longer detour including two climbs and finish by taking the ferry across the Voldsfjord. Rain had now stopped and I enjoyed the ride. Of course, there were a few tunnels on the route, one of them with a gravel bypass. The second climb came after having left the main road in Mogrenda to take a shortcut by following a steep track trough the forest. The last section of route along the Voldsfjord presented no difficulty. In Folkestad I took the ferry across the fjord.
⠀
Volda welcomed me with a light rain and 10 min later I had got me and my bike out of the rain at an Airbnb. After having finished my daily cleaning, I walk downtown and had dinner in a restaurant with a very friendly staff.
