Day 3 I left my children and friend after breakfast and cycled through the Krummhörn toward Emden, where I took the ferry to cross the Ems river in Petkum. The sun was shining and around 3:30pm I crossed the border to the Netherlands.
It took me 3 more hours ride against a fresh headwind to reach the farmhouse of my next Warmshowers hosts Willemien, Reginald and Martine near Delfzijl. Martine had written me before, that she would unfortunatly not be at home on my stay, but her parents gave me a warm welcome and we had good talks in the evening.
Stage 3:
99.9 km 2.1 km 7:04 14.4 km/h 220 m 220 m 342.4 km 344.5 km
On the next morning, before I left, Willemien and Reginald offered me to visit their organic pig farm, including the feeding (see video clip below) and I was luck to see two hours old piglets. Thank you again Willemien and Reginald for your great hospitality and the outlook for your interesting farming business.
