Day 95 I woke up at 6:30am. The smell of fresh roasted bacon lingered in the air. Anja had already left for work. I met Peter in the kitchen and we had a delicious breakfast together. Then it was time to leave and say goodbye. Thank you Peter and Anja for your great hospitality!
Around 7:50am I was on the road again heading to Kiel. I stopped at Glücksburg Castle, a beautiful Renaissance water castle at the Flensburg Fjord before leaving the Baltice Sea coast toward Kappeln on the north bank of the Schlei inlet. I stopped for lunch at a fish restaurant in Kappeln and as I left the sky was covered with dark clouds. I continued my trip toward Kiel, passed Eckernförde and reached the old bridge over the Kiel Canal as it started to rain. Fifteen minutes later I reached the home of my Warmshowers hosts Heinz and Gaby, who were very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable in their flat. They have a remarkable cycle touring experience and shared some tips with me.
