- Summary of Baltic Sea — 2017
Day 82 I left Jan and Cathrin’s holiday home at 11am. The weather was fine, it was warm and the wind was blowing from the southwest. Because of the pessimistic weather forecast for the next days and also to avoid having later to follow the E22 coastal road after Kalmar, I decided to cycle southward toward Åhus. That brought me on the familiar road to Alstermo. There I bought some food at the local shop and stopped for lunch at the border of the Alsterån river near Jan and Cathrin’s former holiday home where we spent two weeks with the family in 2008. After the village of Malerås, I followed the unpaved road through the military area to Kosta where I made another break, checked a few options where to spend the next night and decided to stop at a camping site in Tingsryd. There I had some chats with my tent neighbours, a young swedish mother from Vimmerby and her little girl, two young german females from Sehnde/Hannover and a group of young Germans from the Heidekreis north of Hannover (who had some trouble after having locked their old Mercedes car with the key inside), while a large group of german camping veterans were bawling in the background “Griechischer Wein” and other german drinking songs.
