Day 67 I left the hotel in Sundsvall around 9am. It was still cloudy and a cold wind was blowing from northwest, but it was luckily not raining. It was at least an easy ride without long steep slopes. One time I missed an intersection, landed on a ride path and had to u-turn. In the afternoon the rain came back for a while, but the sun was shining again as I arrived in Hudiksvall. The rear hydraulic disc brake of my bike had weakened since Norrbotten. I had planned to replace the pads in Stockholm and was a bit afraid as I had to use both brakes in the afternoon and the rear one no longer responded! From the road I googled for a cycle workshop in Hudiksvall, checked the opening hours (10am to 5pm) and as I arrived there at 4:45pm, the customer friendly statement I received after a diagnostic at a glance was: “Come again tomorrow morning at 10am and we will fix the problem”. I really hoped that they would fixe the problem the next day. Luckily the hotel was just 50 m from the cycle shop. In the evening I went to a nearby irish pub for dinner.
