Day 60 I left Luleå around 9am. It had rained during the night and the roads were wet. I had decided to follow the Cykelspåret cycling route to avoid the E4 main road where ever possible. As I came on a cycle way near Luleå ‘s airbase, two Saab fighter jets flew several time above me and it looked as if they had taken my bike as an exercise target. I was cycling through the cyclist friendly Piteå as a heavy rain forced me to look for a shelter. As the rain became lighter I restarted and after a while the rain stopped.
I arrived in Skellefteå around 9:30pm. My very first Couchsurfing host Johan welcomed me, but had to go to work for 1 – 2 hours. He came back around midnight and we had a long and interesting chat until 2.30am.
