Kemijärvi — Rovaniemi – Roaming Around

Day 54 I got an awesome breakfast at the B&B hotel and the friendly waiter asked me as I had eaten my fill, if I would like to eat some icecream. But I had to leave. Unfortunatly it was raining outside and the thermometer showed only 2°C. Summer in Lapland I thought and headed toward the mainroad to Rovaniemi. Panniers and bag adapted the colour of their outer skin to the muddy road environment like chameleons thanks to the many timber loaded trucks, the wind blowed from the North with 29 – 35km/h and tried to get me from the road, snow flakes restricted my view and as I finally crossed the Artic Circle again and reached the Santa Claus Village near Rovaniemi, rain had stopped and I sped up down to the river Kemijoki, passed the bridge and climb up the Ounas Hill (Ounasvaara) to reach the hotel. After having taken a hot shower I went to the hotel restaurant and enjoyed an excellent dinner accompained by a magnific view on the Kemijoki valley.
