Käylä & Oulanka National Park

Day 48 In the afternoon I cycled with Anne to Juuma and we left our bikes at the Rekti Etappi café and camping site for a hike. We crossed the Kitkajoki river on a narrow suspension bridge, followed the hiking trail to the former water mill Myllykoski and entered the Oulanka National Park following the Pieni Karhunkierros round trail along the Kitkajoki river back to the water mill. On the way back to our bikes we allowed us a break on the sunny café terrace of the Basecamp Oulanka resort.

Day 49 In the morning I cycled with Anne to Käylä and we stopped at the garden café at the Käylänkoski rapids before going to the supermarket. In the afternoon I cycled again with Anne to Käylä, then we followed the gravel road 8693 to the Oulanka National Park visitor centre (Oulangan luontokeskus), where we left our bikes. From the visitor centre we followed the hiking trail along the Oulankajoki river to the Kiutaköngäs rapids.

Day 50 Because od the pessimistic weatherforecast, I catched the opportunity to make a rowboat tour on lake Pikku Rävä with Alex after breakfast and in the afternoon, we took a sauna in the wood-fired sauna hut close to the main house.

Day 51 A rainy day allowing me to update my blog.
