Suomussalmi — Taivalkoski

Day 45 I left Suomussalmi around 9am. Because of the cold weather in the morning (grey sky, temperature 6ºC, fresh wind from North-East) I had to dress warmly, but I froze for 2 hours. After having left road 5/E63, I was alone on road 897 and its many slopes, but the road was in good condition and I finally got a good pace. After having reached the junction with road 800, weather became gradually better and I had to remove some clothing. As I finally arrived in Taivalkoski and stopped at a supermarket to buy some food, it was summer.
A last steep slope and the B&B I had previously booked was reached.
