Day 44 I left Hotelli Kalavela around 9.30am after a good breakfast. The sun was shining, temperature around 18ºC and there was little traffic on road 9070. After the intersection with route 89, asphalt got replaced by gravel for 10 km. In Moisiovaara followed route 9110 to Suomussalmi. Some of the slopes were very steep and I was finally happy to get some rest as I arrived in Suomussalmi.
