Day 1 I left home at 7.20am and after 30min I was alone on the road. I passed Resse and Wedemark, crossed the Forst Rundshorn forest and reached Winsen (Aller). After a short break at the Bergen-Belsen memorial, I continued pushing NNE and passed Bergen (Aller) and Hermannsburg and finally reach the B4 in Melbeck (Ilmenau) to cycle the last 10km along this main road to Lüneburg. But I had no luck, then the road was closed in direction of the city and I had to follow the diverted traffic, which brought me to the ADAC driving safety center and the B209 with prohibited access to cyclists. But my navigation app found a muddy path through the woods and after a while I reached the suburbs of Lüneburg, passed the city centre to finally arrive at Bernard and Andrea’s home.
This was my very first WS experience as a guest. Bernard and Andrea are warm hearted persons who made me feel comfortable from the first moment. They offered me a great meal and it was nice to have the opportunity to speak french with Andrea.
